Tom Thumb can be sown any time from April to July in a prepared seed bed. Sow the seeds thinly into rows 8 inches apart, then cover with an inch of fine soil. Firm gently and water in - keeping them moist throughout the germination period. New seedlings should appear from 14 - 28 days afterwards. When they are large enough they can be thinned out to 1 seedling for every 2 inches. Come September/October they can then be transplnted into their final positions approximately 6 inches apart.
